Compassionate counselling for anxiety, stress, life transitions, and moments when life feels like too much.
You might be functioning on the outside while feeling completely overwhelmed on the inside.
Maybe you’re:
You don’t have to wait until things get worse to ask for support.

Offering services both in person and remotely to adults and their families in the Kelowna and Okanagan area.
When your mind won’t slow down, your body feels constantly on alert, or everyday life feels harder than it should.
When you’ve been carrying too much for too long and you’re feeling depleted, irritable, exhausted, or unable to switch off.
Support through changes in relationships, family, work, identity, loss, parenting, or other seasons of life that leave you feeling uncertain or stuck.

When you’ve been carrying too much for too long and you’re feeling depleted, irritable, exhausted, or unable to switch off.

Sometimes you understand intellectually why you’re struggling—but knowing why doesn’t necessarily make the anxiety, tension, overwhelm, or emotional reactions disappear.
That’s where a body-aware approach can be helpful.
My work integrates:

A collaborative approach that starts with your experience, your goals, and what you need.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
Practical tools for understanding patterns between thoughts, emotions, and behaviours.

Hi, I’m Ashley.
I’m a Registered Professional Counsellor (RPC-Provisional) and the founder of Somara Therapy in Kelowna, BC.
I believe therapy should feel like a place where you can slow down, be understood, and explore what’s really happening without judgment.
My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and grounded in the belief that meaningful change happens when we understand not only our thoughts, but also our emotions, relationships, and the ways our bodies respond to stress.
My work integrates Somatic Experiencing, CBT, person-centred counselling, and attachment-informed approaches.
I don’t believe there is a one-size-fits-all approach to counselling.
Your story is yours. Your therapy should be too.
