Individual Counselling in Kelowna BC

An older man and a young woman engaged in a serious conversation indoors.

Individual counselling provides a supportive, confidential space to slow down, make sense of what you're carrying, and begin to reconnect with yourself. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or simply not like yourself, anxiety therapy can help you gently explore what’s happening beneath the surface and move toward greater clarity, stability, and ease.

I work with adults navigating a wide range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, life transitions support, grief and loss, postpartum adjustment, relationship stress, and the general struggles that come with being human. You don’t need to be in crisis to seek support—depression counselling can also be a space for reflection, growth, and reconnecting with yourself during times of change.

My approach is grounded in a person-centred foundation, meaning you are met with empathy, respect, and without judgment. You are the expert of your own experience, and our work together honours your pace, your story, and your capacity for healing.

I integrate Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to help you understand the connection between thoughts, emotions, and behaviours, and to develop practical tools for managing symptoms such as anxiety, low mood, overwhelm, or self-critical thinking. CBT can offer structure and clarity when things feel chaotic or heavy.

Alongside this, I draw on somatic therapy approaches, influenced by the work of Dr. Peter Levine and Somatic Experiencing (SE). Levine’s work highlights how experiences—especially stress, overwhelm, and trauma—are not only psychological but also held in the nervous system and the body. When we slow down and gently track bodily sensations, we can begin to support the nervous system in completing stress responses that may have become "stuck," helping to restore a sense of safety, regulation, and connection.

This somatic lens supports you in noticing how your body responds to stress, grounding into the present moment, and building capacity to stay with difficult experiences without becoming overwhelmed by them.

Together, these approaches allow us to work on multiple levels—mind, body, and lived experience—so that healing is not just about symptom relief, but about creating a deeper sense of resilience, presence, and self-understanding.

Therapy with me is collaborative and paced to what feels manageable for you. We move gently, with curiosity, and with respect for the wisdom your system already holds.

I also bring counselling services to rural communities in the Thompson Valley, Okanagan, and Kootenay Regions.

Healing should be accessible to every community. I am working toward providing counselling services in smaller towns throughout the Thompson Valley, Okanagan, and Kootenay regions to help reduce barriers and create stronger, healthier communities. This includes offering specialized services such as anxiety therapy, depression counselling, and life transitions support.

As someone who grew up in a small community, I understand how limited mental health resources can be. Early in my formal education, I recognized this gap and committed to bringing my experience to these areas. For several days each month, I will make my services available to smaller communities within a reasonable range, and provide options for Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and somatic therapy directly to you.

Small towns face challenges much like those of larger cities, yet the residents often lack adequate support when life’s difficulties arise. The ripples of grief and loss can impact the entire community. I have witnessed this firsthand and am dedicated to offering both in-person appointments as well as online sessions for those in need of support.
